  • Grills - What Do You Like

I have had my stainless Weber for 11 years. Looking to buy a new grill. The grill cost me 1000.00 at the time. Don’t know if I want to do that again.

    Ideas?

I get a new grill about every 3 years I just got my new one hrom Home Depot 2 weeks ago. It’s a cheep 3 burner gas grill price was $150 it was all ready put together setting outside. It had rust on it. I aske if they would show some love because of the rust I sail for the right price give me the most rusty one you have. They sold it to me for $100. Same exact grill I got about 3 years ago. So if this last for 3 years that around 33 bucks a year. I can live what that.

I have a 25 year old Weber Silver series and it works better then the new ones. Put a few bucks into a couple of years ago changing the igniter, crossover tube and covers for the burners I think they call them flavorizer bars. This thing is so old I had to order new grates for it as the old ones a finally burnt through last summer which was about $80 bucks. In total I would say I spent a total of $150 bucks and it works great. Keep the old one.

            Just remember . . . . . . . . . RUST NEVER SLEEPS! 😂

For general grilling (steaks, burgers, brats), I use a Weber. For smoking or low heat cooking (ribs, brisket) I use a Traeger wood pellet grill. For breakfast foods (bacon, eggs, French toast) I'll use a Blackstone flat top griddle. The Weber is on the patio and I have a Traeger mounted on the back of my 5th wheel.

Weber Genesis II E-325 natural gas grill, a bit pricey but worth it. Last fall replaced all the guts for about $300 and it's like brand new again.

Replacing the innards I didn’t think about.

Did you guys get the parts from Weber?

899 -The Weber website quoted some prices through a distributor but finally used Amazon Prime ordering Original Weber parts. They have replacement parts choices from other manufacturers also but wanted the original stuff.

Five regular Weber kettles, three @ 22" and two @ 18", a 2 tiered domed smoker, and side fire box that fed a large, lidded drum smoker. Plus a cheapie gas grill for a quick burger or brat. Used to do barn parties with 100+ guests. One of them would bring a full grown lion or tiger in a cage on the back of his truck, and on occasion, a lion cub, that despite its size, could drag you around the barn. Very cool. Eating, drinking, fishing, a dump golf cart to pulling a utility cart full of kids around the property. A large brush pile fire for fun, and a regular camp fire pit, just to sit around and BS. Some would bring tents. I bought my 18 acre camp 13 years before retiring in 2006. The man with a plan.

Had to shop for a replacement part last month - discovered the grill was subject to a safety recall from back in 2009 (got it with the property) got a $300 coupon for a new one. Bought a smaller cheap one since its usually only two of us.

I have a Charbroil Infrared. Cooks evenly with no flare-ups. They also have a new version called Amplifirer, don't know much about them.

I'm like Big Country. I buy the cheaper ones for my porch. Down at my pavilion I have a smoker/charcoal grill and in inground BBQ pit
