Western thoughts would be small island chains and naval battles. Chinese thought, Wall Street, American unrest, ports of entry, precision military strikes on US based airfields and military industries. EMPs and satellite warfare as well.

China will make their first strike hurt the US more. The US is not on a war manufacturing footing. We are expending too much on Ukraine.

I don’t want any war with China or Russia. Unfortunately, Russia will continue westward. They eventually will hit a NATO country and then we’ll be directly involved. China gets and takes a Taiwan, they will then use that as a launching pad to Okinawa and more importantly Hawaii. They’ve even said so in their military white papers. They have already stated they have no problems with bio weapons and even saying they could invent a vaccine or cure to use a leverage against a target country. I don’t want this fight, but Russia and China , with the Potato in office, does. Weakness begets more violence.

Its probably a good time to stock up on your MRE's and survival stuff, ready your "go bag". of course if theres a nuclear exchange you probably wont have to worry about 'going" anywhere, except heaven or Hell. In such a conflict winning is as dangerous as losing. Even if we won the conventional war we'd still take heavy casualties and a desperate China just might launch a 1st strike on our missile fields and Submarine bases as well as other strategically important targets. This thing could take on a life of its own and spin rapidly out of control.

And it all started with Uncle Junior publicly stating we'd automatically come to the defense of Taiwan, shit canning the one China policy and the strategic ambiguity that went with it. This was a mistake because even tho it was clear we'd probably take Taiwan's side already there was no need to rub the noses of the Chinese in it with a public statement. I think Biden said it off the cuff without even thinking. He has no idea about the concept of "face" in the Asian mind or the importance of keeping it for them. Everybody knew we'd support Taiwan but there was no need to say it.

And then theres the infiltration of Chinese money and influence into our own Govt. which stinks to high heaven.

No, we are no where close to being ready. Ships, planes, helo's, tanks suffer from up rates of as low as 50%. The OsamaObama years and sequestration cause so much being lost due to maintenance funding being near zero that all these platforms have a 50% ability to do what they are intended to do. A naval fleet of 280+ ships is half of what we need. We ain't getting there anytime soon, if ever. Munitions wise we are well behind the 8 ball in magazine depth. More time spent of training for sexual harassment, CRT, D I E and other things that preparing for actual combat and how to save your ship from sinking. Yard periods well over budget and time frame. Some ships taking 3-4 years to go through upgrades. A national sin.
