You knew this was coming. Ron DeSantis is now under criminal investigation for transporting 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard. That comes per the Miami Herald, which reports that a Texas sheriff is investigating whether the migrants were “lured” away from the Migrant Resource Center in Bexar County, TX.

Authorities in Texas have opened a criminal investigation into Gov. Ron DeSantis’ operation to fly roughly 50 Venezuela migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard last week.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a news release Monday that his office is investigating whether the migrants were the victims of a crime.

“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into the migrants that were lured from the Migrant Resource Center, located in Bexar County, TX, and flown to Florida, where they were ultimately left to fend for themselves in Martha’s Vineyard, MA,” said Salazar, referring to an aid center for migrants in San Antonio, which is in Bexar County.

Salazar said his office was working with private attorneys for the migrants, as well as advocacy groups.

“We are also preparing to work with any federal agencies that have concurrent jurisdiction, should the need arise,” added Salazar, who is a Democrat.

My sides hurt from laughing so much at this. It is absolutely absurd to suggest that it is criminal to transport people who volunteered to be transported. In fact, these illegal aliens seems happy even after arriving in Martha’s Vineyard. Further, DeSantis, always thinking ahead, had the illegal aliens sign a release before they boarded the planes and the illegal aliens were even provided brochures showing the resources available in Massachusetts.
BREAKING: Florida's Voice has confirmed with Ron DeSantis' office the below brochure was given to migrants who were voluntarily flown to Martha's Vineyard

The brochure contains information directly from the Massachusetts government website pic.twitter.com/IPRO4UD4ad

    — Florida’s Voice (@FLVoiceNews) September 19, 2022

Immigration lawyers, who make thousands of dollars per illegal alien pursuing mostly fraudulent asylum claims, are disputing the material in the brochure, though it all apparently came from Massachusetts’ state website. The bias involved is obvious, given illegal immigration literally makes their industry.

Besides, what is even the suggestion here? That it’s human trafficking to take people who want to go to liberal sanctuary cities? Does this Democrat sheriff really have nothing better to do despite his county being in the midst of heavy drug cartel activity? We know what this is. It’s just pointless lashing out for political reasons.

It’s also not going anywhere. A Texas sheriff is not going to arrest the governor of Florida for giving people rides who wanted rides. There are no statutes for “luring people away,” whatever the heck that actually means, that I’m aware of. Further, these illegal aliens were living on the street. Is this sheriff suggesting it would have been better to leave them there?

All of this is dumb, but I’m here for it.

Only Sleepy Joe can ship illegals in the dead of night to parts unknown - that's NOT criminal BUT when Desantis sends a few on a bus or two, holy moly - criminal act! Such complete INSANITY. I'd like to know if we as a country are gonna sit around for the full FOUR YEARS of this buffoon or will SOMETHING interrupt his reign of terror? 🤨

I would never raise my voice because it’s frightening to people. Instead, I would calmly state "my name is Kenda from the Police Department; you are under arrest for murder. If you don’t do what I say, I’m gonna kill you right here, right now!" - Lt. Joe Kenda - Homicide Hunter

How about we open a criminal investigation into the Mayors of every Sanctuary city, and the Governors of every sanctuary state for harboring illegal aliens. I believe sections 3 and 4 apply.

        8 U.S. Code § 1324 - Bringing in and harboring certain aliens

        (a)Criminal penalties
        (1)
        (A)Any person who—
        (i)
        knowing that a person is an alien, brings to or attempts to bring to the United States in any manner whatsoever such person at a place other than a designated port of entry or place other than as designated by the Commissioner, regardless of whether such alien has received prior official authorization to come to, enter, or reside in the United States and regardless of any future official action which may be taken with respect to such alien;
        (ii)
        knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to transport or move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law;
        (iii)
        knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;

Why would he spend Florida taxpayers dollars to ship illegals from Texas. I am sure he has enough of his own. If there's any truth to this story, he has some explaining to do.

DeSantis blasts Biden for ‘scrambling’ to respond to Martha’s Vineyard – brutally exposes what POTUS ignored

              September 18, 2022 | Kevin Haggerty |

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) may have gone to Daytona Beach to promote an investment in aviation and aerospace education, but he didn’t leave without giving his own lesson on President Joe Biden’s misplaced priorities as he slammed the commander-in-chief for “scrambling” over Martha’s Vineyard.

Earlier in the week, DeSantis put the moral superiority of the open border-peddling, woke left in check when 50 illegal aliens were airlifted to the island getaway Martha’s Vineyard, MA at his direction. Rather than taking the political softball and knocking it out of the park by welcoming the illegals into their community as they so often demand others do, instead locals kicked the newcomers to the curb, declared a “humanitarian crisis,” and sent the aliens away while berating the right as uncaring.

Speaking at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL Friday as he announced an investment of close to $30 million in the Sunshine State’s Space Coast, including training programs to bolster the workforce, DeSantis explained how he was “perplexed” by the reactions his flight of illegals had drawn, namely that of Biden.

“I also was a little bit perplexed when I heard that the president is scrambling to get his Cabinet together to try to address the fact that you have governors who are helping to relocate illegal aliens to sanctuary cities,” America’s governor said to cheering and applause before unleashing a volley of Biden’s resounding failures on the border crisis.

“Now, he didn’t scramble to get his Cabinet together when we had millions of people illegally pouring across the southern border,” DeSantis said of the president. “He didn’t scramble to get his Cabinet together when you had 43, 53 migrants die in some trailer in Texas because they were neglected by the federal government.”

“You didn’t see him scramble to get his Cabinet together when we had Americans that were victimized by criminal aliens that he let across the border,” the governor continued.

“You didn’t see him scramble to get his Cabinet together when we hit record fentanyl deaths, which, that fentanyl is coming across his open border,” he noted.

“It’s only when you have 50 illegal aliens end up in a very wealthy, rich sanctuary enclave that he decides to scramble on this,” DeSantis concluded, coming around to the original point of the busing initiative which was to draw attention to the problems that border towns and states have been dealing with as elitist progressives promote “reckless border policies.”

“And yes, that involves helping with transport,” he explained. “It involves suing on catch and release, which we have done. It’s involved making sure that contractors are held accountable if they’re facilitating this into our state. And we have a statewide grand jury that’s looking at different types of practices that may be going on in the state that’s exacerbating the problem.”

“And so, the end of the day, this is a massive policy failure by the president,” DeSantis said. “This is a massive and intentional policy that is causing huge amount of damage all across the country. And it’s all rooted in a failure to take care that the laws are faithfully executed and to fulfill his oath of office.”

“And so instead of scrambling and worrying about a bunch of rich people, and having 50–and oh, by the way, they already bused them out. They’re gone. They said, they said ‘We want everyone; no one’s illegal,’ and they’re gone within 48 hours,” he reminded. “And so why not actually look at what’s going on.”

“Why don’t you go down there,” the governor said specifically of journalists who have failed to accurately cover the crisis, “and look what some of those communities have to deal with everyday.”

DeSantis Office Responds to Sheriff Investigation into Migrant Transports: ‘Florida Gave Them an Opportunity to Seek Greener Pastures’

                By Lydia Nusbaum, Florida's Voice

                September 19, 2022 Updated 9:11 PM ET

Bexar County, Texas Sheriff Javier Salazar (left), Gov. Ron DeSantis (right, Gage Skidmore).

BEXAR COUNTY (FLV) – The Democrat sheriff of Bexar County in Texas, Javier Salazar, announced the Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation after the DeSantis Administration flew illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard last week.

Migrants who said they intended to settle in Florida were offered flights from Texas to Florida, and then ultimately Martha’s Vineyard.

“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into the migrants that were lured from the Migrant Resource Center, located in Bexar County, TX, and flown to Florida, where they were ultimately left to fend for themselves in Martha’s Vineyard, MA,” the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has pushed back against the narrative that the migrants were “lured” onto the planes. He said they were given a map and a release form to sign before voluntarily traveling.

“Immigrants have been more than willing to leave Bexar County after being abandoned, homeless, and ‘left to fend for themselves.’ Florida gave them an opportunity to seek greener pastures in a sanctuary jurisdiction that offered greater resources for them, as we expected,” said Taryn Fenske, the communications director for Gov. Ron DeSantis, in response to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office announcement.

Florida’s Voice previously reported on the published brochures given to the migrants before boarding the flights. The brochure told migrants where they would be going and listed a variety of benefits and services Massachusetts provided to some refugees. The information was taken directly from the Massachusetts’ government website.
“Unless the MA national guard has abandoned these individuals, they have been provided accommodations, sustenance, clothing and more options to succeed following their unfair enticement into the United States, unlike the 53 immigrants who died in a truck found abandoned in Bexar County this June,” Fenske said.

After leaving Martha’s Vineyard, the group of migrants were reportedly housed at Joint Base Cape Cod where Massachusetts officials “have been working to house, feed and support the group.”

The Florida legislature approved $12 million to help transport illegal immigrants from the state. DeSantis said he plans to “spend every penny” of the allotted money to send illegal immigrants to “sanctuary jurisdictions.” DeSantis: Two Migrant Flights to Martha’s Vineyard ‘Just the Beginning’

Sanctuary cities are usually those with laws to protect undocumented immigrants from prosecution or deportation, despite federal immigration law. Florida is not a sanctuary state.

“And that way they’re able to go and these sanctuary cities can put their money where their mouth is,” DeSantis explained Friday. “They can provide resources. They can do all of that.”

On Monday, Florida House Democrat leaders held a press conference claiming DeSantis’ usage of the $12 million dollars is deceptive.

In the letter, Florida House Democrats claim, “the assertion that these people might have wanted to come to Florida is not a sufficient reason to intercept, deceive, and transport asylum seekers two thousand miles.”

Stay in your state, Ron DeSantis.

The Texas Guv has been inundated with illegals. His busing program is a cost effective method of reducing the strain on his state.. I'll bet he spent less to send thousands on busses than DeSantis did to send about a hundred on 2 planes.

DeSantis's tiny stunt is just that. It was VERY expensive and now we learn he flew them from TEXAS! What?

The sheriff is playing games as well. DeSantis says he has signed release forms. No crime here except a crime against Florida taxpayers.

Really? Florida voters want their tax dollars to go to pay to ship migrants from Texas to other states? I'm sure they'd rather he sent out the illegals from Florida first, don't you think?

Don't be surprised if the Donald himself takes a little swipe at Ron for wasting tax dollars like this.

Okay, but why look for illegals in texas. I'm sure there's loads running around the Miami area. I'm sure it will be harder to get some down there and that they're intermingled. But you don't spend your State's money to solve another State's problem.
